pendleton idols

So, I just updated delightful*. w00t. So, it's time to write about REAL life. The campers leave tomorrow... I have never been more happy to see a group of kids go. I feel horrible saying it, but these punks are driving me absolutely insane!

My day off right? Well, tell that to Oliver (who is a definite mix between Chuckie and Dudley Dursley) who was blasting his ridiculous music in the room right underneath me. Ugh. It makes me glad that there will be no one living under us in our new apartment.

Yes, we got our assignment this week! 101 A. At first Nick and I were a little upset... it's on the ground floor and we wanted a balcony. But last night after kareoke we went by the apartment to look at it a little more closely. The funniest thing about it is that it has 2 peepholes... one at eye level and one down low on the level of the doorknob. I think it is a handicap apartment.

Anyway, speaking of kareoke. I had a BLAST! We went to this place in Pendleton and right off the bat, it was a country sketch version of Clemson's TD's. But it was so funny. Betsy and I danced at first creating a huge scene... well, that was just the beginning. She intriduced me to some of her friends (Betsy really knows a lot of the older crowd... LOL) and they were just tickled by the fact that we are in Tiger Band. This one lady, who was as cute as she wanted to be found out that I was a drum major and about messed herselelf. "You are a drum major?! OHHHHHHHH!!! I can't believe I am touching a drum major for the Tiger Band! AAAAARRRGH!" While she was saying this, she was grabbing my hands and touching my chest and shoulders... I'm tellin' you, this woman wanted a sip of the Ham Mochachino! Well if that wasn't enough attention, you shoulda seen the reaction the whole restaurant gave Betsy and me when we sang Build Me Up Buttercup. I guess I really can sing! We had the place rockin'. This white gentleman came right up to me while I was singing and was like, "Sing it, brotha!" After we got done, we received thunderous applause and had people from all over the restauarant telling us how good we were. Nick even said that he had heard me sing before but never heard me sing like that. It was such a rush and so much fun. Betsy and I are definitely Pendleton Idols.

As for today though, it's back to the lowly life of a summer camp counselor... getting no respect from these kids and having to eat the gruel they call food at Harcombe Dining Hell. But on a brighter note, we got paid today and once again...

THE HELLIANS LEAVE TOMORROW!
