That's what I told Hoke over AIM just a minute ago. I've been trying to explain it to people, but that is the best I've done since I found out I had to have this thing. This does not mean that I am going on dialysis though. This was a "just-in-case" procedure.it's this thing that they put in kidney failure patients that connects an artery
to a vein so in case dialysis is needed, they can filter blood
The surgery wasn't bad at all... I was even awake while they proceeded to slice my arm open and dig around in there. Oh yeah, lots of fun. It didn't hurt though... until I got home... and the anesthesia started to wear off. I was lightheaded, nauseous, AND felt like my arm was going to explode. But, the funny part about all of this is that my chondroclamacia in my knees decided to run away... I guess there's only room for so much pain in my body.
Anyway, this makes me stuck here in the house for the next couple days. One sheet I got at dismissal today said I'd be able to drive in 24 hours, which will be at around noon tomorrow... but that mean man that cut my arm open told my mom I shouldn't drive until Thursday! BOO! That sucks, 'cause Jenee's 21st is Wednesday... and besides the fact that it's her birthday, I am having super huge Clemson withdrawl (love you, Jenee... lol).
Whatever... as soon as this pain subsides, I'm going to resume my active almost 22 lifestyle.
Another funny thing about this whole surgery is that from now on, I can't lift really heavy things with my right arm... so, when I move into the townhouse in 25 days, I won't be able to lift anything... oh, the life. LOL.
