Well, the campers are here... and running the f around Dookieblue. I dunno what they are doing... they are grown. LOL. It's weird, 'cause this is the first time I have had campers this age, so I don't have as many responsibilities as I did at Camp Cooper and Camp Long. This camp is WAAAAAAAY different from them. I miss those camps A LOT. I didn't realize how much I would miss the "bad" kids and the woods and nasty cabins... but I do. This is almost like paradise. One noticeable difference is the kids here... they PAY to come to camp, and a lot of them were forced to come... I doubt they will enjoy it as much as the kids enjoyed 4H camp.
I only have 5 campers. Johnathan, Thomas, Zak, Phillip, and Daniel. They are a good group. I am supposed to have 8, but only 5 showed up. I kinda feel bad for the 3 without roommates... I remember how bad camp was at Wofford that year that I didn't have a roommate. My door is open and my music on... so I hope they come in and want to hang out.
My room is hella tight. I mean, I know that for a guy, I have a lot of taste and I'm really neat, so I guess it's a given. But I love my room. I kinda like it more than 3A7... it's not as big and as Patrick said, "It's more intimate." And I have a microwave (shhhh)!
I guess there isn't much more to write about... we have a meeting at 10 with the whole building because some buttmunch rolled the floors. I doubt it was any of my guys. They are so quiet!!! GOSH, I HATE IT! But these other punks... I have decided... they are worse than my bebe kids from last summer... It kinda put things into perspective. I never realized how grateful they were for that time they spent at camp last summer... Christy, a counselor here that just graduated with her Elementary Ed degree was telling me about how much she enjoyed being at a Title 1 school. I always get put in schools and situations with Title 1 kids, so I really wanted to be in a more upscale school for my student teaching... and I was looking forward to working with kids that weren't wards of the state... but just from one day, I can tell the difference. LOL.
I'm not complaining though... I don't mean to. I am enjoying it.
Here is a little thing that Bryce just IMed me... I thought it was funny. It's about these kids... just to put into perspective the whole economic difference between these kids and my 4Hers...
