Well... today was... different. I went someplace I had NEVER been before (and only want to go back under ONE circumstance).
Anyway, I went to the mall (that is not the place that I had never been before). Patrick was coming through on his way back from Raliegh, so we hung out there for a while. I bought some hella tight J. Crew sandals. That was fun.
Anyway, after that, I went to pick my brother up from school. All I have to say is, when I open a door to Eastside High School, a FLOOD of emotions come over me. Just being in that building and smelling it brings back so many fun memories. I went and visited Ms. Hardin, my chorus teacher... good times... she hasn't changed a bit...
THEN... I went to Clemson. To Betsy's little gathering... THIS is where I went to the "place" that I had never been before. Well, Missy picked me up from my house, since she was coming from Bawlin' Sprangs. On 123 in Easley, I told her how I was scared that Betsy's "Dinner Party" was gonna be the typical "white party" that I went to in middle and high school--where I would go to a party without eating, expect to eat something, and not eat anything, get home at 11 or 12 and be starving. My mom used to make so much fun of me and say, "You know they don't feed you at those white parties... What did you have at that last one?" and I would say, "well... fruit... and crackers... and chips... and peanuts..." and she would say, "You know at a black party, you'd have fried chicken, and sandwiches, and macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes..." It is very true... Anyway, in fear of Betsy's party being a "white party," we stopped at Dodge's in Easley. Well, after getting 50 hot wings, we started back for Clemson... but it didn't really turn out the way we had expected. We missed the turn to get back onto highway 123, so we realized we were on 93. 93 runs straight through Central (where Betsy's apartment is), and Clemson, so we figured if we stayed on it long enough, we would run into Central. Well... we started out, and did not know where we were. We figured we were in Liberty. Well, we were right... until Liberty ended and NORRIS began... after going to Clemson for 3 years, never had I ever known there to be a Norris, South Carolina close by. All I thought Norris was, was a frat dorm. Anyway, it didn't seem like Central was anywhere close by. So, we turned off of 93 when we saw a sign that said "to 123." I thought this was going to solve our problems. But no. "What? This is a field!" That was my reaction once we turned... a little later, my words were: "That is a man. On a tractor. In the road." I couldn't belive all that I was seeing... a little hokie town there in the middle of nowhere... with fields and men on tractors in the road. Wow. Luckily, we made it back to 123... yes. We got lost going to where we go to school... tragic? Yes. We get an F for tonight.
ANYWAY... tomorrow is gonna be pretty uneventful. And, I found out today that my parents are both gonna be out of town this weekend, so I have to take care of my brother... eh... it could be fun. My mom swears that he LOVES me so much and wants to spend TONS of time with me... which I don't have a problem with... but I think he doesn't care as much as my mom says. He's 2 months from 16, has a girlfriend and TONS of friends at school that he sees daily. I don't buy into the whole "He wants to hang out with his older brother thing." When I am at home, compared to him, I am pretty lame, if you ask me. But oh well... Until tomorrow...
