fun times and tragic people

Unproductivity. The theme of this weekend. I always knew that I was pretty unproductive... It takes a lot to get me to do anything worthwhile on weekends... this weekend is a little different though. It would honestly take and ACT OF GOD to get me to do anything this weekend... and I'm not just talking about schoolwork... surprisingly, I don't have much schoolwork to do... ish is winding down. The biggest things I have due are my Math Methods paper, ED F 302 quiz, and speech portfolio. I will pretty much be done with most ish on Tuesday hopefully... that is only if I get my Math Methods paper written by that day... It's not due until Thursday, but if I get it done, I won't have to go to class on Thursday until 11! So yeah... definitely plannin' on doin' that.

So, this unproductive weekend... It started yesterday very late in the morning/early in the afternoon... I had a late night... Patrick and Nick know why... LOL. Anyway, after lunch and working at the desk, Anna (YES, ANNA, I MENTIONED YOU!!! I LOVE YOU, GUIDING SPIRIT!!!), Nick, Patrick, and I went to Anderson Mall...

***POINT OF INFORMATION: Anderson Mall gets an F. It is quite possibly the most tragic mall on the eastern seaboard, if not in the US and the world. Extreme amounts of boredom to not warrant visits to Anderson Mall... only serious shopping. Thank you, please.***

Anyway, at that tragic mall, we saw some of the most disgusting people in the world. We tend to people watch a lot when we go places... whether it be in Harcombe or even ol' nasty Anderson Mall. Let's go over some of the people we saw... The wheelchair guy that hit on Anna, the goths, the pink she-pimp and her ghetto lady friend, the tall daisy duke wearing drag queen lookin' "thing," and the "person" in the model search that had a mustache AND really pretty, long Pantene Pro-V bouncy hair (we are pretty confident that it was a guy). Anderson Mall... I'm gonna need you to do better. But, the Gap was fabulous as ever... all I have to say is stress-free clothing is quite amusing.

Today, I went and led the chi'rens of the SRA School of Methods "Orchestra" in their little performance. Wow... Well... lemme just say that I was blown away... in 2 respects... First at how incredibly bad we sounded... and Second at how utterly EXCITED the crowd was! OMG. Well, first of all, the Bible verse I used to preface "The Horse:"

"In that day shall there be upon the bells of horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar."
-Zechariah 14:20

Good, huh? I got a couple of "amens" and "hallelujahs" and everything. Well, I told the guys that I was going to play the first measure... It was for the trumpet, but Justin didn't feel comfortable playing it. So, I said I would. Well... I started, and nothing came out. But, we kept going. Thankfully, the crowd got into it and started clapping and stomping their feet. That was motivating. So, in all, it wasn't terrible... but I wasn't pleased with my own trombone playing... but it's okay. Everyone cheered at the end... TONS of "amens" and "hallelujahs!" It was so odd... I wanted to turn around to them and look at them like they were crazy. But, I was glad at the response. DJ and Justin were pleased... oh, by the way, only ONE of the 6 drummers showed up.

Then, I went to the O & W game today. It was fun... I acted like a complete band dork... and made fun of the 3rd string quarterback that is in my speech class. I was proud of him for actually being on the field and doing something. In speech class (yes... the same one with the Dilta Dilta Dilta), he talked about his biggest accomplishment being dressing out for some really dorky game against some puny team and running down the hill... this is of course right after I gave my speech about being a drum major in Tiger Band and bowing and waving and having my name called out in front of 80,000+ fans. I'm not conceited... but whenever there is a chance to make band appear cooler than another activity that people consider high profile, I do it. I win.

Anyway, I'm on duty... and it's almost time to do rounds... and Anna (HEY ANNA!!!), James, and Nick are over here.
