sparkles on the sidewalk

This evening while walking back to my dorm from Nick and Jason's, I noticed something that I had never seen before. The street light was shining down on the sidewalk and the sidewalk was sparkling. It was the most bizarre thing... First, because I'm sure that whatever rocks that make up the concrete in the sidewalk ALWAYS do that, but secondly because it was so pretty... I can't really get over it. The SIDEWALK outside of my crappy POS building??? It became the inspiration for this entry.

Things suck. They really do... not even trying to sugar coat things. My car got towed on Friday, I had a ticket a few weeks ago, I am having to pay the consequences for that ticket, I had money stolen at Fike a couple weeks ago, have dumb school assignments due all over the place, the worst day of the year is in 6 days, I don't understand myself and no one else really does either, I spend a lot of time alone writing my mindless jibber jabber in here... Things suck. Things really do suck. But, there are sparkles on the sidewalk. I just know that in the midst of all this coarse rock, a shiny pebble is lurking... and that it's glimmer will bring a little bit of hope to me. I don't even want to begin to imagine what that sparkle is... or where it is... or when or where I'll see it. It's there, cause I can see it... like on the sidewalk, the whole sidewalk wasn't sparkling, it was just in a few sporadic spots. So, they were few and far between...

My sparkle is somewhere on the sidewalk...

...but I don't think I'm gonna look for it.
